Bulk Auto‑Enrollment and Direct Assignment Launch¶
If your institution does not use LTI integration with Canvas, Lab.Computer provides a CSV‑based enrollment system to streamline student access and assignment delivery.
This method allows instructors to directly enroll students, assign work, and generate personalized launch links — without requiring students to sign up, join courses, or import assignments manually.
Workflow¶
Instructor prepares a CSV file with the following columns:
- Student Email
- Course ID
- Assignment ID
Then:
- The instructor sends the CSV to the Lab.Computer team.
- Lab.Computer automatically:
- Signs up students (if not already registered)
- Enrolls them in the specified courses
- Imports the specified assignments
- Generates direct assignment launch links for each student
Lab.Computer returns an Excel file to the instructor containing:
- One row per student
- Direct assignment launch links

- Eliminates manual sign‑up, course enrollment, and assignment import steps
- Ideal for large classes, short courses, or external participants without Canvas access
Notes / Considerations¶
- CSV must be correctly formatted
- Links are personalized per student; do not share publicly
- Instructors must communicate deadlines and instructions
- Recommended only when Canvas LTI is not used or available
